Miyawaki Baisen-an

A Kyoto fan house founded in 1823. The painter Tomioka Tessai gave the house its name in 1887; in 1902 forty-eight masters of the Kyoto art world painted its ceiling, and it is still there. A finished fan has passed through an artisan's hands 87 times.
