About

Tamba Yamamoto is a Japanese company. We work with eleven workshops in Kyoto and Kameoka — bamboo, lacquer, iron, indigo, paper and glass — and ship what they make to Singapore.

We buy from each workshop directly. Nothing here is made for export in a factory: the pieces are the same ones sold in Kyoto, which is why sizes are given in the maker’s own measurements and why some pieces vary slightly from one to the next.
