Japanese Linen Noren Curtain – Mountain Range Indigo Shibori Door Curtain
No · Material Linen · Pattern Tie Dye · Width 90 cm · Length 120 cm · Care Hand Wash · Style Japanese (varsa)
DESCRIPTION:
For centuries Kyoto dyed cloth in a water-indigo called Kyo-asagi — until it vanished in 1923. A family workshop in Kameoka revived it as Kyoho-ai, and dyes every piece by hand, one at a time.
"Yamanami" — mountains upon mountains. Ridge after ridge of indigo fades into the morning haze on this 100% linen noren, built up with two hand techniques together: hiranui stitch-shibori draws the mountain lines, and itajime board-clamping layers the gradient blues behind them. The natural linen ground glows warm in sunlight, like dawn breaking over the peaks.
A doorway curtain, a window piece, or textile art for a wall — and because every ridge is stitched and dipped by hand, no two mountain skylines are ever alike.
