Hozuai
Japanese Fabric Wall Tapestry – Mountain Peaks Indigo Hand-Dyed Wall Hanging Decor
For centuries Kyoto dyed cloth in a water-indigo called Kyo-asagi — until it vanished in 1923. A family workshop in Kameoka revived it as Kyoho-ai, and dyes every piece by hand, one at a time.
Rows of indigo peaks rise out of a band of natural, undyed cloth on this hand-dyed wall tapestry. Layer upon layer, the blues deepen toward the bottom — like distant mountain ridges emerging from morning mist.
Hang it in a living room, hallway, bedroom or entrance for a calm touch of Japan Blue. Because each piece is dyed by hand, tones and edges vary slightly, so no two are exactly alike.
