Bamboo Bottle Stand handcrafted in Kyoto, Japan - turns a bottle of sake, wine or whisky into a display piece.
In the bamboo groves west of Kyoto, the workshop of Nagaoka Meichiku tends and crafts kyo-meichiku - the famous ornamental bamboos of Kyoto prized for centuries in tea houses and temples: pale shirotake, sesame-speckled gomadake, and tortoise-shell kikko-chiku. Every piece is cut, cured and finished by hand by Kyoto bamboo craftsmen.
A single arc of thick kyo-meichiku bamboo cradles your favourite bottle at a flowing angle. Choose plain polished bamboo, gold-leaf, urushi lacquer, or lacquer with gold leaf. About 30 x 8 x 4 cm; fits standard 720 ml-750 ml bottles.
