Nagaoka Meichiku
Japanese Bamboo Hair Clip – White Bamboo Hair Accessory
Bamboo Hair Accessory handcrafted in Kyoto, Japan - holds a bun with a lacquer-smooth sheen.
In the bamboo groves west of Kyoto, the workshop of Nagaoka Meichiku tends and crafts kyo-meichiku - the famous ornamental bamboos of Kyoto prized for centuries in tea houses and temples: pale shirotake, sesame-speckled gomadake, and tortoise-shell kikko-chiku. Every piece is cut, cured and finished by hand by Kyoto bamboo craftsmen.
A hair ornament of pale white bamboo, bent and polished by hand - holds a bun with the sheen of lacquer-smooth natural bamboo.
