For centuries Kyoto dyed cloth in a water-indigo called Kyo-asagi — until it vanished in 1923. A family workshop in Kameoka revived it as Kyoho-ai, and dyes every piece by hand, one at a time.
This round indigo brooch is finished with fine gold lines over hand-dyed indigo. Choose your design:
• Ripples (Sazanami) — a soft cloud-shibori of white and indigo, traced in gold
• Flow 01 (Nagare) — flowing gold lines over deep indigo
• Flow 02 (Nagare) — flowing gold lines over deep indigo
Each is dyed and finished by hand — no two are exactly alike.
