Hozuai
Japanese Fabric Necklace – Indigo Hand-Dyed Pendant for Her, Gift
For centuries Kyoto dyed cloth in a water-indigo called Kyo-asagi — until it vanished in 1923. A family workshop in Kameoka revived it as Kyoho-ai, and dyes every piece by hand, one at a time.
This round indigo pendant comes in several hand-worked designs — white blossom, fine gold lines, a gold net, waves, and stripes. Each is dyed and finished by hand; choose your favourite. No two are exactly alike.
Light, understated and quietly striking — a wearable piece of Japanese craft.
